What is SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) course about?

Attending this two-day course will give you the tactical tools and techniques to be an effective SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) to coach Agile teams to deliver maximum business value at scale. Unlock the potential within you to empower and lead Agile Teams.

Attending this course will give you an understanding of how to facilitate Agile events like iteration planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. As scrum masters you will be able to help teams plan and complete their work. At the end of the course, you will learn principles of servant leadership, so you can help develop high-performing, engaged, continuously improving teams in your own organization.

Participants will be able to facilitate Scrum events, support PI execution, learn to coach teams to constantly improve, and implement DevOps for continuous flow and delivery.

What are the SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) course certification details?

Exam requirements

The first step toward becoming a Certified SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) is to attend this course. This is a requirement because attending the course provides access to all the study materials and the exam. Note that attending the course does not guarantee passing the exam.

Exam details

Exam name – SAFe® 5 Scrum Master Exam
Exam format – Multiple choice, multiple responses
Exam delivery – Web-based (single-browser), closed book, no outside assistance, timed
Exam access – Candidates can access the exam within the SAFe Community Platform upon completion of your course
Exam duration – Once the exam begins, candidates have 90 minutes (1.5 hours) to complete the exam.
Number of questions – 45
Passing score – 33 out of 45 (73%)
Language – English
Exam cost – First exam attempt is included as part of the course registration fee if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion. Each retake attempt costs $50.
Retake policy – Second attempt on exam (first retake) can be done immediately after first attempt. Third attempt requires a 10-day wait. Fourth attempt requires a 30-day wait.
