The SAFe® for Teams with Certification Training is a two-day course that helps members who are a part of the Agile team implement the SAFe® (Scaled Agile Framework), work as a team of teams in an Agile environment using Kanban, Scrum, and Extreme Programming (XP). The participants of the SAFe® for Teams SP Training will also learn how to increase the business agility of the overall organization. The training prepares Agile teams to make continuous improvements and run program increments (PI), including meetings at the team and program levels, specifically focusing on the upcoming PI planning event.
The Agile teams also learn how to break down features into user stories, and make continuous improvements. The course also allows members of a team to learn about DevOps and the continuous delivery pipeline.
In this training course, you will be able to do the following:
Completing the SAFe® for Teams SP Training has no prerequisites. However, those with hands-on experience working with Agile concepts and principles, awareness of Scrum, Kanban, XP, and software development processes will benefit from the examination. The SAFe® for Teams SP course is designed for all team members of an Agile Release Train preparing for launch and those who are looking to apply Lean and Agile at Scale. All stakeholders of an ART who are at the start of their SAFe® can attend the SAFe® for Teams Certification Training.
The participants learn to connect with the Scaled Agile Framework. It covers the benefits of using SAFe® in an organization, the Lean-Agile mindset, the Agile manifesto, and the SAFe® principles and values that are most essential for a team. It also includes identifying Kanban, Scrum, and best quality practices.
The participants are first introduced to cross functional, component, and feature teams before exploring the Scrum Master and Product Owner roles in an Agile team. The delegates also learn about other teams and people on the train.
This lesson focuses on preparing the team’s backlog by getting the items required for iteration planning. This includes writing user stories with acceptance criteria and sequencing the stories. The lesson then switches over to planning the iteration event in SAFe®, which includes establishing the program increments and breaking the requirements down into user stories for the team to work on. Estimates are also added to the iteration if required.
This lesson teaches the participants to visualize and measure the flow of work. It also covers how to build quality into development along with continuous integration, deployment, and release. It also discusses how to improve flow with communication and synchronization, demonstrate value, retrospect, and get better.
This lesson involves PI planning an event simulation. It provides participants with an understanding of how the PI event works and its associated outputs. It also involves planning, integrating, demonstrating, and learning together.
This is the final lesson in the course, which provides information about the SAFe® community platform and how to prepare for the SAFe® 5 Practitioner Examination.
After completing the SAFe® for Teams with Certification Training, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of their roles and responsibilities within a team in a SAFe® environment. They will also understand the roles of various teams and PI planning and execution. Also, they will be eligible to appear for the SAFe® 5 Practitioner Examination.
